West Nile virus Detected

 

West Nile virus has been detected in traps in the following locations during the 2024 Season:

Culex tarsalis mosquito

West Kaysville

 West Point

We encourage all residents to protect themselves from West Nile virus by doing the following:

  • Use insect repellent, according to label directions.
  • Empty any water holding containers in yard which do not need to have water in them and change out the water in bird baths and horse troughs weekly.
  • Wear long-sleeved, loose fitting, light-colored clothing.
  • When possible, avoid prolonged outdoor activity at dawn and dusk.
